Smart Sense™ digital signal processing technology (DSP) is available only from Telex. This technology identifies unique frequencies in each aircraft and adjusts accordingly to cancel out those specific frequencies. It is the lower frequencies that over time cause significant hearing damage and increase fatigue, and the Stratus 50-D works like no other headset availble to target those specific frequencies and cut more noise. The end result is a total reduction of 50 decibels of low frequency cockpit noise. No other headset eliminates more damaging noise than the Stratus 50-D. While the Stratus-50 cuts lower frequency sounds voices, and music are clearly heard.
